Winter in Stubai: ski and cross-country ski
Whether you are a passionate skier, snowboarder or freestyler, the Stubai Glacier ski area should be right at the top of your bucket list. Snow is guaranteed from autumn into late spring. If you are staying longer than just a few days, you will have the chance to enjoy the three other local ski areas, too. Rest assured: it is going to be a fantastic experience, for a ski holiday in the Stubai valley comes with a side of rustic Alpine huts, exciting après-ski entertainment and spectacular downhill runs.
Also, do not miss the chance to participate in our Ski Days on the Stubai Glacier!
There is more: the surroundings also offer plenty of opportunities for cross-country skiers, with a wide choice of panoramic trails. Spend a winter holiday in the Stubai valley and skate on the valley trail in Neustift or challenge the high-mountain trail on the Stubai Glacier!
When you are back from your adventures in the snow, you can safely store your equipment in the convenient locked depot at Natura Vitalis Hotel Cappella.
Tobogganing, snowshoeing and winter trekking in the Stubai valley
Take a romantic hike through 80 km of snow-coated trails in Neustift, Fulpmes, Telfes, Mieders and Schönberg or lace up your snowshoes and trudge through the surreal quiet of the Stubai winter. For a small fee, you can rent snowshoes and toboggans directly at Natura Vitalis Hotel Cappella and spend a carefree day on the snow, for example on one of the 12 local natural toboggan runs. Bolt down Tyrol’s longest natural toboggan run or enjoy a night ride on the illuminated Elferberg run. If you are partial to the romantic atmosphere of a nightly jaunt, we are happy to organise evening toboggan rides and torchlit snowshoe hikes for you!
Living happily means living in harmony with nature
Cold feat: Ice climbing and ice skating in the Stubai valley
The Stubai valley is also one of Tyrol’s best locations for ice climbing. From the 20 metre-tall ice wall of the Stubai Glacier to the frozen waters of the Grawa and Pinnistal waterfalls, you are in for some proper adventure. Qualified guides are available to accompany the less experienced and the climbing hall in Fulpmes offers challenges in all levels of difficulty from IV to X.
If you are more into sliding than climbing and enjoy the balanced moves and revitalising effects of a nice ice skate, there are several places where you can indulge, including the ice hall in Fulpmes, the ice rink in Neustift or the natural ice rinks in Mieders and Schönberg.
